The AWS Student Chapter Toolkit is intended to provide Student Chapter Officers and Advisors with the information and resources needed to support Student Chapter activity.

The Student Chapter Toolkit will be updated periodically to ensure that content we feel is of value to our Student Chapter leadership teams is available. If there is a specific resource you are looking for and cannot find it in the Student Chapter Toolkit, please email us.

  • STUDENT CHAPTER SOLUTIONS CONVERSATIONS

    These monthly teleconference conversations are intended to enhance ties between AWS HQ and AWS Student Chapters by providing timely updates and tips on Student Chapter Operations.

    National Welding Month
    National Welding Month is a time to make an impact on the industry through recognition, education, and service. This month, the focus should be on acknowledging the achievements of our industry tradespeople, teaching others about the importance of welding in our society, and taking steps to introduce welding into our schools and communities.

    Scholarships
    If you are currently enrolled, or will soon enroll, in a welding program or a related field, then consider applying for our scholarships. Scholarships are available for students attending trade schools, community colleges, and four-year universities. An AWS Foundation scholarship can be the extra push that helps you fulfill your goals!

  • STUDENT CHAPTER ANNUAL REPORT

    The 2023 AWS Student Chapter Annual Report, which covers the period of time from June 1, 2022 though May 31, 2023 is now open and must be completed and submitted to AWS World Headquarters by September 1, 2023. 
    Reminder: All Student Chapters who submit a complete report will be eligible to receive this year's anniversary payment in the amount of $250.

  • AWS SPEAKERS DIRECTORY

    An enhanced version of the AWS Speakers Directory has been developed specifically to help leaders of AWS Sections and Student Chapters facilitate meaningful educational and technical programs. The Directory allows you to easily search for potential speakers by name and area(s) of expertise interested, and allows you to easily see where the speakers are willing to travel and whether or not there are any fees associated with the speaker’s presentation at your event.


    Simply log into your AWS Member Account and look for the “Find Speakers” link under the My District and Section box of your Account Dashboard.

  • AWS STUDENT CHAPTER MEMBER AWARD

    This award was established with the purpose of recognizing AWS Student Members whose Student Chapter activities have produced outstanding school, community, and/or industry achievements.

    Nomination forms may be submitted to AWS any time during the year. A special certificate will then be sent directly to the requestor for presentation to the recipient. Recipients of the award will be recognized in the Welding Journal.

  • STUDENT CHAPTER ROSTER REQUEST FORM

    It is important to keep your Chapter's roster up to date as this determines who will recieve updates from your Chapter and AWS HQ. It is the responsibility of each Chapter, to ensure the accuracy of all members affilaited to your roster.

    Submission Form
    Used to report happenings of Student Chapter meetings/events as well as to have Chapter activity considered for publication in an upcoming issue of the Welding Journal.
